Vote for Nucleus

The nucleus is a spherical organelle and is the control center of the cell. It is made up of the nucleolus, nucleoplasm, and a double membrane covered in nuclear pores.

The nucleus holds 6 feet of DNA within it. The nucleus directs all other parts of the cell. It is often considered the most important part of a cell. Without the nucleus' direction the other organelles wouldn't know what to do.

Although prokaryotic cells do not have a true nucleus they still have the components that make up the nucleus. It is just not within a nuclear membrane. All cells need the information stored in the nucleus. Some of the information is used for forming the cell, therefor without the nucleus the cell wouldn't be. The nucleus is also important for reproduction and cell metabolism. So, vote for nucleus. We will always put u before us.

  1. The nucleus can be easily argued as the most important organelle in the cell, but some people forget to look deeper than how important it is for controlling everything. It's true that the nucleus is extremely important, seeing as how it's the control centre of the cell, but what about the other organelles?

The peroxisome may seem tiny and insignificant to most observes, but if you think of it this way, the nucleus couldn't do any of it's controlling without the peroxisome. I protect the cell. Without me, the entire cell would be burning in acids, including the nucleus. It may be important for holding genetic information and directions, but it would be nothing without the other organelles such as the peroxisome.

A president, however important he may be, is nothing without a country to lead. Such is the way with a cell. If a cell only had a nucleus, there would be nothing for it to control. A president without people, everyday citizens like engineers, factory workers and police men, would simply be a man in an office with nothing to do.

In my opinion, the little organelles like peroxisomes are important too, and should be recognized. After all, what good is a control freak with no one to control? -P. Peroxisome

    1. I'm not denying that the other organelles are important. If they were not needed, I wouldn't have held the DNA to make them.
You may protect the cell but without me you would not know how to do that, or when it needed to be done.
Without someone to govern the people of a region they would do what ever they want, causing harm to themselves and others. The same goes for a cell. If I was not here to control the other organelles you could all potentially destroy each other and the cell.

  2. Although you claim that the nucleus is the top organelle, it truly is not! First of all, not all cells need their information stored in the nucleus! Many cells have their DNA floating around the cell in the nucleoid! Secondly, far too much credit is given to the nucleus! The real credit goes to the nuclear envelope because the nuclear envelope separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm and it is responsible for the transport of proteins through the nuclear pores! Therefore without these key components found within the nucleus, it is not able to perform its many functions! That is why the nucleus is truly not top organelle.

    1. The nucleus is not just considered to be the components within the nuclear membrane. The term nucleus is used to describe the membrane and it's insides as a whole.
